Common, the rapper spoke in honor of Dr. Maya Angelou as well as others at his 1st Annual Common Ground Foundation Gala. This foundation helps develop the youth in rough communities to become active citizens and lead, not follow.

This event took place in Chicago, IL and took time out to recognize different women who represent leadership.

Every year, Phi Beta Sigma gets one week, like the rest of the fraternity's here on Eastern's campus that are part of the NPHC, filled with events created for fun, charity...just an all around good time!
This year's theme is called "Well Done"; based off of the song "Well Done" by Tyga. This week's layout is based off of a track compilation like you would see on a CD.

Sigma week officially started Sunday, April 10th and goes on until April 16th.

Nicki Minaj & Britney Spears To Tour Together/Mya's New Album Cover

Young Money's Nicki Minaj is partnering up with Britney Spears in her upcomming American Tour during the summer. The tour begins June 17th in California.
Right now, Minaj is touring with Lil' Wayne and Rick Ross until the end of April.

Talented dancer and singer by the name of Mya released the official album cover for her fourth studio album. This album is called K.I.S.S. (Keep It Sexy & Simple). This will be her second studio album to hit Japan. There are 13 songs total including Marques Houston alongside producers Young Yonny and Chuck Harmony. This album is anticipated to hit store by April 20, 2011.

The American Red Cross: Lending a Helping Hand Relief Movement for Haiti

We can only go so far with our intentions to help and reach out. But with The American Red Cross, having people come together can help make our communities, our environment a better, more peaceful place.

This past January, marked one year since the devastating earthquake shook up Haiti leaving thousands, upon thousands of the Haiti people injured, killed, homeless with no food and water. It is going to take awhile to recover from such a disaster. Today, just a much like the day it occurred, any type of help to get the people of Haiti back on their feet is a big type of help.
The American Red Cross is taking donations, even via text message. So far the fundraising to get Haiti back on its feet has been very much successful with already raising $479 million which will provide the proper health care, food and shelter for the survivors.

Peace and Tranquility in a Bottle

I recently stumbled across a wonderful product this past month! While back home, I ran out of body wash. I'm real particular about what products I will use. My mom recommended shower gel from a line of products called Philosophy.
At first I was skeptical about it. The design of the bottle was quite interesting and clever though. Philosophy uses children's pictures and writing in lowercase style to highlight the pleasure life can bring and display the curiosity of childhood consciousness that we all have.
